My original goal was to make intense efforts on 3 work exercises, at my job, for about 2 months. I managed to complete 7 weeks before I ran out of push. However much I tried I could no longer keep that intensity up and I eased up on forcing the machine to do what it would rather not be doing, i.e., Working.
By the end of this 7th week I had already set up the observational platform, one that is always there in the backround. So the routine of the machine running on auto-pilot and its' identity, (which is fostered by its thoughts), has become obvious to me. My observations are becoming more objective.
For 2 weeks afterward I would only slip into the 3 exercises when it was absolutely convenient. And this lack of intense efforts on my part I again took to be a weakness. I am continuing to work on the refinement of this process of waking up.

alpha/theta state
Dear ICW members,
On sunday april , 5, gorebagg tv demonstrated to the ICW that alpha/theta waves could be sent through the computer medium. My hit on this was as follows:
My "studio" became almost transparent with luminescence, a visual clue of a definite dimensional perception shift. Everything was as it was but different. I experienced an internal state along the lines of my work with popcorn, bow and arrow, and diffused vision. I sensed a definite quieting down of the beta as well as increased awareness and senses.

Work to awaken the machine in progress here.
During my 5th week of daily work-exercises the most prominent observation was of the machine identity. Having not the brain power for intense bursts, I resided in a subdued and less intense effort. I was observing the machines' movements less and it's identity more. Which, by the way, from what I can tell is that the machine's identity and the machine are indeed one and the same. I'll launch off into THAT one on a future posting.
During my sixth week of popcorning, invoking my presense, and remembering the impressions of all these previous observations carried foward since I began this Work necessity project, there was less resistance to making consistent efforts along the lines of awakening the machine , invoking my presence, diffusing my vision.
I'm also considering that gorebagg recommends that we could just drop the beta altogether if we wish. And gorebaggs' work idea was a catalysts for my work this week. So today(friday) I'm working all day and I'm Working all day and just shortly after I had packed it in for the day on both fronts, I entered the waking state spontaeously, effortlessly. I probably logged in a good 30 minutes or so in this state.
E.J. Gold and gorebagg tv have provided the most accelerated results I have ever acheived in so short a period of time. And my no less important and dear ICW members who have loaned out their necessity to me is a blessing indeed.

My painting again shifted to an artistic method rather than the usual precise robotic techniques my auto-pilot would normally supply. I did not initiate this artistic aspect to the experience. Rather it was the result of my successfully engaging the popcorn exercise while painting. Even after the experience faded, I still retain this smoothing of the edges approach while working. Not all the time. But always subtly.
Let me draw your attention to the ICW from last weekend. E.J. stated that the alpha/theta state came as a RESULT of blocking out the beta frequency. Beta frequency being the dominant signal of the thinking mind. From my work with the popcorn exercise and exerting all the brain's attention on the movements of the machine, the ENERGY of the thinking has to be utilized minus the associative/conceptual part. Visual focus is also sacrificed when diverting the brains energy and so is thought. And what every tourist of the latest alpha brainwave craze certainly knows is this, that when your eyes are not focused or when your eyesight is equally diffused , there is a marked increase in the generation of alpha waves.
This last weekend workshop was fabulous. Explaination of spirit radio, stumbling upon a theta generator and a brilliant summing up of what this whole business boils down to.

I had arrived on friday to assess that I had only managed to practice 2 days (mon.& wed.) out of 5. On tuesday, thursday, and friday there were no Work on Self efforts to be made, or any such desire to even consider anything other than remaining a floating head while the machine runs on auto-pilot.
Around 6 P.M. friday evening, just as I was making an entry in my Work journal, an observational platform spontaneously arrived. I was able to observe the thinking centrum interact simultaneously with the moving centrum activity of hand-writing. As the machine thought, the hand-writing moved in perfect sync. This platform of observation deepened into actual pathways through-out the torso and extremeties while allowing me to be totally in the machine actively observing it.The sensation of a moving whole that is thinking. The importance of this observation isn't the content of my thoughts or moving activities. It's the experience of being right in there and actually seeing the machine.
Imagine suddenly finding yourself observing the machine... " Yup. That's the machine alright. It's moving, thinking, having sensations. All repetitious patterns of movement with form and predictable sequence. And here I am. An observing presense that is intimately spread throughout the thing it is observing".

Early results at efforts to awaken machine
During the first 2 weeks of practicing the popcorn exercise, I maintained slow and steady movements so as not to reflexively move faster than my headbrain could track. This produced a subtle whole body sensing that would linger on throughout the day inbetween my concentrated efforts to force the headbrain to follow all the movements of the machine as a whole.After the first 2 weeks I came home from work and started painting one of the rooms in my home.( a four or five hour project with union breaks, over-time, ect.) At some point I decided to to increase the intensity of my efforts and in shorter, more concentrated bursts. A short while later my painting techniques became less methodical and more artistic. ( I have never before in my 30 plus years of painting, EVER felt artistic about it) A series of moving postures more akin to improvising. More smooth and fluid.I went the whole hog including painting the attic stair-well. The job was finished and I went to take a shower.
As I showered my movements were one 'whole' moving. I experienced my machine as a tingling electrical whole body sensing. An electrical vibration of body surrounding an observational platform. A rather heightened state or gradation of the waking state, perhaps. The whole intensity lasting the duration of the shower. In all fairness I should mention that I,ve had alot of practice in the shower with popcorning. It is the residual effects of the effort during popcorning that deliver the results, sometimes way after the initial efforts.
Do the exercises work? Is not the question.The question is: Are you working the exercises?

From a personal standpoint there is great motivation to continue my work-on-self committment. Should one of my group members have a question about my progress, it would be terribly embarassing for me to have little to report.From my Work Will I am motivated to to continue work-on-self because I now have the force necessary to discipline myself in these skills. The force that allows me this luxury is provided by my dear ICW members. (Whether they realize this or not)
Like all of us in the Work, I've had stretches of Work practices and then long periods when I just let it run on auto-pilot. In the past, my work-on-self produced some profound results that were too few and far between. I would exert a dollars worth of effort and get a penny in return. There just didn't seem to be enough force to work. Since my borrrowing the necessity of the ICW, A dollars worth of effort now brings in around 20 to 30 cents!There is a definite observable increase in the force available for my work.
If the necessity of the group is great then you must become great to meet that necessity. You rise up because it is necessary. You make efforts because no one else around is willing to make those efforts.I highly recommend this method of borrowing the necessity from a souce greater than your own self-.necessity. It will put a booster rocket under your you-know-what!Shortly I will send out some of my recent results through e-mail. As always, I welcome any questions , comments, or suggestions.

I wish to inform all ICW members, personnel, etc.,that I am borrowing their necessity. It became obvious that one could kill 2 birds with one stone, so to speak. Firstly I made a commitment for the benefit of the ICW group whose neccessity must be measurably greater than my own,that I would commit myself to 3 work-exercises during my job every day of the week.
